Bulls Slay the Panthers for First Victory of the Season!
The John Harvey State Farm Insurance/Newman Oliver & McCarten Insurance Minor Atom AE Belleville Junior Bulls welcomed the Pickering Panthers to town on Saturday afternoon.

From the drop of the puck the game got off to a roaring start!  Pickering and Belleville both traded shots with neither gaining the upper hand, with the score knotted 0-0 after the first frame. It wasn’t too long into the 2nd period when the games pivotal moment happened.  After the Bulls inadvertently coughed the puck up at their own blue line, two Pickering players raced down the ice on a two on none.  Ethan Yuke made a huge save to bail out his teammates and the hometown crowd went wild!  Seconds after that Reed Andrus scooped up the puck up at the boards and race down the ice, potting a backhander over the goalies shoulder for the games first goal.  Moments later, Reed Andrus put another one past the sprawling Pickering goalie to give the home side a two goal cushion heading into the 3rd period.

Early in the third period, Nicholas Martin scored a nifty marker, continuing his fine start to his first season with the Bulls.  The ever-reliable Travis Whitmore rounded out the scoring for the boys, putting the puck past the goalie midway through the final frame.  The game ended 4-0 and well-deserved shutout for Ethan Yuke!  Assists in the game went to Noah Roy, Keegan Murphy, Cameron Adamson, and Nolan Elmy.  Other notables:  Tanner Zadworny had a strong game on defence, after having spent all of last year as a forward.  Also, Jacob Goodfellow may have been the fastest player on the ice, as he was a force in both ends all game.  Late in the game the coaches decided to juggle the lines, and put Alexander Black, Brett Keane, and Nicholas Martin together.  Pickering had a hard time containing this group, as the puck remained in the Panthers end to the final whistle.  Great job boys!
