The Novice AE Junior Bulls finished off a busy
week of practice and development with an away game against Peterborough on
Friday night. The fatigue of having skated 3 of the past 4 nights was
obvious as the powerhouse Petes outplayed and outmatched the Bulls.
Although there were some bright moments in the game, the home team used
superior positioning, skating, and passing to win 4-1. Ethan Walsh was
able to break the shut out and Callum Decker made a whopping 29 saves in the
loss.
After taking Saturday to rest, the Bulls had a home game against the Oshawa Generals on Sunday. From the time our players showed up at the rink to when they left, on and off the ice, the Novice AE team represented themselves with class, effort, and determination. Belleville truly had a balanced attack with nine different players getting on the score sheet in a 7-4 win. Top scorers were player of the game Connor Kerik and Reed Andrus with two goals and two assists each. Belleville led 3-1 after one, and 4-2 after two but the Generals did come to compete and the winning result was earned in the third period where a game full of hustle and energy wore down the visitors, allowing Belleville to pull away with the victory with a couple of late goals. Ethan Yuke played well in the net.
The team is now preparing to meet Quinte West and Peterborough at home this weekend. Good luck Bulls and skate hard.
