Fast and aggressive is how Game 2 of the OMHA Quarter finals
with Kingston started and finished on Saturday.
The Bulls were hosting the Canadians in the FDC and the game
started a little late due to a game on before.
From the face off in the first Belleville could see that Kingston came
to play and were not satisfied giving up 2 points the night prior.
Much of the first was a back and forth with both goalies ready. Finally at 6:46 in the first, with Birchard keeping a cool head deep in our end, picking up the puck from the Canadian forward and skating past their defensemen to send a beauty pass to Royce who fired his shot bar down! Belleville fans roared with support. There was again more back and forth action, with fans chewing their nails. In the second at 4:22, on a powerplay, Royce scored again, this time assisted by Conlin and Richards.
And at 1:59 in the second a sweet pass from Channell to McLellan beat the goalie underneath the glove. Breathing a shy of relief the Bulls ended the second up 3-0.
Coming into the third the Canadians were fired up and pounding the Bulls to tie up the game 3-3 in under twelve minutes. With the Bulls giving up a Mott to a penalty and 30 seconds left, everyone was on edge. Rosatte stood on his head and forced OT for both teams.
For a minute and half of the ten minute OT, the Bulls were short-handed. Thanks to efforts and quick reaction by Dow, a Canadians puck that was just on the line to be tapped in, was instead kicked out. The game finished with both teams earning a point in the series and ready for a few days rest before their next match on Wednesday in Kingston.
