Three Novice AA Bulls Selected for All Star Game
Over the weekend of January 13-15, the Belleville Bulls Novice AA team traveled to the Preston International Hockey Tournament in Cambridge Ontario. The tournament now in it’s 59th year has seen the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Daryl Sittler, Shawn Matthias and Joe Thornton and many other NHL greats play in the tournament over the years.
The tournament had 92 teams and over 1500 players in Novice and Atom. A great feature of this tournament is the annual Royal Canadian Air Cadets Novice All Star Game, comprised of players from the various AA and AAA.
Tournament Scouts watch all round robin games and choose players from various teams competing. Three Novice AA Bulls were selected to represent Belleville in the game on Sunday afternoon. Blake Brown, Daniel Foster and Nolan Reitzel were selected to play for Team Red.
Players from as far away as Sudbury and Windsor, Buffalo and Ottawa made up the teams of 15 skaters and three goalies. Opening Ceremonies and player introductions made the event even more memorable for the boys, not to mention the great Jersey they left with. Congratulations Boys, and keep up the hard work!
