Home & Away Split.
The U13 Belleville Bulls split the weekend with a win and a loss against Kingston. The Bulls were very excited to get going after tryouts but looked nervous against a very strong K-town team (first place last season) that had added some great players coming down from AAA. The team got into penalty trouble early and Kingston took the lead. The Bulls could never find their stride and although they never gave up, the game ended up 6-2 with Belleville goals from Bailey Allen on a penalty shot and Charlie Burkitt.
On Sunday the Bulls made us proud by not coming out scared or nervous after the loss. What a difference a day can make. They took some penalties early but no one panicked and the first period ended 2-2. Belleville scoring came from Matt Parsons (assist from Bailey Allen) and Bailey Allen (assists from Carter Colebourne and Parsons). In the 2nd period the Bulls lost some of their intensity and Kingston managed to score 3 times to give them a 5-4 lead going into the 3rd. Bulls still managed to put up 2 more to keep the game within reach. Bailey Allen scored his 2nd of the game (Colebourne) and Colebourne got the 2nd goal of the period. In the 3rd period it was Kingston's turn to run into penalty trouble and the Bulls stayed disciplined. The result was another goal from Colebourne (Allen) to tie it and a huge game winner by Parsons (Colebourne). The Bulls played solid defense as a team the rest of the way and held onto the lead for the win. Ryder Hayes was solid in net for the W. Stay tuned for more exciting news when the season starts.
