Bulls Take Home Lessons after Difficult Silver Stick Schedule
The Bulls rolled into Northumberland for the Silverstick Tournament with a matchup against the top ranked Clarington Toros. The competition would not let off as the Bulls faced off against another top ranked team, the Ottawa Valley Silver Sevens. To cap things off, the Bulls faced some more tough competition against the Ottawa Sting. The Bulls showed heart and resilience against these tough teams. Although the Bulls left the tournament without a win, a lot of great lessons were learned for the coaching staff and players which they will take into league play.

Game 1

The Bulls faced off against the Clarington Toros to kick things off in Baltimore on Friday morning. The Bulls pressed hard early and had several chances in the first period to go up but couldn't find the net. The Toros would strike first and it would eventually be 2-0 Toros at the end of the first. The Bulls would get into penalty trouble and the Toros would strike again and did not let off. The score would end 9-0 for the Toros.

Game 2

After a busy afternoon of team-building, the Bulls would play the Silver Seven in Port Hope. The Bulls would go down 1-0 after 1. Derek W kept the game close with some key saves early on. The Bulls would eventually tie the game up with a nice passing play that started with Luis G to Knox S and eventually would find Jeff G's stick and he would score to tie up the game. The Bulls would be on their heels with some penalty trouble and Ottawa would score back to back. With the Bulls down, Luis G took the puck on the half wall and came around the net to score to make it 3-2. The Silver Seven would score late in the 2nd to make it 4-2. The 3rd period would be all Silver Seven as they would score two more to secure the win.

Game 3
An early Saturday morning game would put the Bulls against the Ottawa Sting. The Sting would strike first early in the first to make it 1-0. The defence would make some key stops and Mason P in net made some great saves to keep it close. Luis G eventually would break free and score to tie up the game on the powerplay in the 1st period. The Sting would score in the 2nd to take the lead. Finally in the 3rd, the Sting would score again to take a 3-1 lead. The Bulls wouldn't quit and kept the momentum coming. A shot from the point by Blake P would be tipped in by Maverick C to bring the game to 3-2. The Bulls would continue to press to tie up the game but a late goal with less than a minute left would seal it for the Sting.

The Bulls faced off against some of the toughest competition in the province and will come away from that tournament with some great lessons. Thank you to all the parents, coaches and managers for a great weekend supporting our players. Go Bulls go!
