Bulls come away with a tie against the Golden Hawks
The Bulls charged into Quinte West ready for a battle against a cross-town rival. The game did not disappoint and it was an exciting game full of lead changes and hard play on both ends. The Bulls would eventually tie the game and continued to show their never-die no quit attitude.
The game started with Quinte West controlling play in the Bulls end to start the first period. Derek W would be tested early but made some huge saves early on to keep the puck out of the net. The Bulls would fight back and find themselves on a powerplay on a too many men call. On the Powerplay, the Bulls would cycle the puck well and Griffin M-G would dangle through a player and would snipe in from the hash marks to make it 1-0 early for the Bulls. The Bulls defence did a great job of clearing the puck cleanly and staying in the offensive end.
The 2nd period would be a different story. The Bulls got unlucky in the middle of the 2nd with a bouncing puck that led to a 2 on 1 that would find the back of their net. Penalty trouble would also result in two back to back powerplay goals for the Hawks. Momentum had shifted and the Bulls would find themselves down 3-1 going into the 3rd period.
The Bulls would find themselves in a familiar script and momentum would shift again to give the Bulls some life in the 3rd period. A nice passing play between Griffin M-G and Luke D would free Luke D up to score top shelf to make it 3-2 for the Bulls. Shortly after that, another great cycle and a pass from Griff M-G again over to Dylan P would find the back of the net to tie up the game 3-3. The Bulls would continue to press with some great point shots from Max G and a late powerplay opportunity that resulted in several shots on the Hawks Goalie. The game would end in a 3-3 tie and the Bulls take home another point in league standings.
Up next, the Bulls face off against the Oshawa Generals Wednesday night in Oshawa. Go Bulls go!
