U12AA Belleville Bulls Dominate in Road Game against Whitby
The U12AA Belleville Bulls rolled into Whitby for a Saturday afternoon clash against the Wildcats. Coming off a great win Friday night, the Bulls looked to continue that momentum coming into this one. The Bulls struck first and never looked back cruising to a dominate 5-1 win against the Wildcats. With the win, the Bulls are tied for 3rd in Lakeshore League standings with the Wildcats. The team continues to grow and learn from one another. Next up, the Bulls are in Quinte West Tuesday night for a big game against a cross-town rival.
The first period started with some great chances on both sides. The Bulls would strike first when Max G would put a puck on net from the half wall. Luis G would dig the puck out in the crease and Dylan P would finish to put the Bulls up 1-0. Mason P would be tested but would stand strong making some key saves after this goal. A powerplay would be awarded to the Bulls midway into the 1st and they would capitalize. A point shot by Nolan J would hit the boards behind the net and bounce out to Luis G who would finish short side. The Wildcats would find the net on an odd man rush to make it 2-1 to close out the period.
The 2nd period would be tightly contested with only a few chances on either side. The Bulls would kill off a penalty midway into the 2nd that would give them the momentum back. Midway into the 2nd, Knox S would find an open Dylan P in the neutral zone who would score to make it 3-1 for the Bulls. Mason P would continue to impress with a huge save at 5:39 left in the 2nd to preserve the 2 goal lead.
The 3rd period would be all Bulls. Luis G would score with less than a minute into the 3rd to make it 4-1 Bulls. Less than two minutes after, a great hold by Emmett S on the blueline would keep the puck in the zone. Knox S would once again find an open man, Luke D in the slot who would score to make it 5-1. The Wildcats would call a timeout after this one. The game would get very physical with Whitby taking several penalties but the Bulls would stay disciplined, hang on to the lead and close out this game. Go Bulls go!
